[RC] Pacing - aarenex

<disengaging lurking device>

I agree with Maryben.  My old standardbred mare would trot (smoothly) to keep up with the canter of the Arabs...when she wanted to fly past them, she'd pace--smoothly.  Riders learned to simultaneously two-point and grin with lips closed to avoid getting bugs in the teeth.  Glorious!  Not bumpy at all--more like riding a very joyous rowboat.

My new 5-year-old STB mare flunked off the track before ever competing, but she's pacer-bred...and smoooooooth.  Y'all can keep your 4-beat gaits.  I love my standardbreds.
