Re: [RC] High Heart rate/cri at Shamrock Ride - Beverley H. Kane, MD

Aside from what the vets got, what did you get?

I have seen a horse get pulled for hi CRI @ 76/100 w/ occult pain that
didn't make him lame. After he was pulled, and after a careful exam ,
another ride vet, who was our crew that day, concluded the horse had a sore
groin muscle.

When he pulsed down after a few minutes and
then went to the vet his heart rate was elevated from 56 to 72

My first guess would be to make sure the vet knew to wait out the full
minute before taking the 2nd pulse.
