John T is probably right here.  I had a 14.1 grade pony of unknown origin,
other than the report that he's been brought to Oregon from Texas.  He had
obviously been caught by being roped and may have been herded from a
mororcycle or ATV.  He had a brand the size of a saucer.

I sort of wondered if the size of the brand could be attributed to the
convenience of being able to read it without catching the horse.

I'd take a ranch horse from Rushcreek in a heartbeat, brand or no.
