Re: [RC] [RC] Tevis questions - TypeF \(Jackie Floyd\)

Actually, no, you can't get to all the vet checks this year. The Michigan Bluff vet check has been moved 1.5 miles closer to Auburn and there are no crews allowed there. You can drive to the town of Michigan Bluff and watched has horses come into town on their way to the vet check, however.

Right now we're still trying to iron out the webcast details for this spot. Management would like to run a wire down to the vetcheck for the laptops for reporting purposes, but head volunteer Judy Suter and I are working on trying to keep the laptops in Michigan Bluff and radio the info to us so that crews that do come to Michigan Bluff will have a communication link and can ask us where their rider was is.

Karen,

Yes to everything..:) Isn't that what Californian's say?? YES??

So, yes, you can get to all the vet checks with your vehicle. One thing to know about getting into Robinson though is that you will need a "crew pass" unless you have made other arrangements. They only allow one crew pass into that vet check per rider. I would bet that offering to carry something for someone's crew may help you get a lift.

There is a dinner offered on Friday night, and yes you can purchase a ticket, and yes you can have a camp stove..just no open campfires.

Feel free to contact me privately..I live about 10 min from the finish and can help you with contacts...

I am going to the Tevis Cup this year, not to ride, but to observe and
photograph. I will be driving a 4 door 4WD pickup. Will I be able to get
into the vet checks with that? How can I get info on how to get to the
checks? Also, I will be coming to Robie Park Friday night. When I was
there before there was a dinner provided for the riders. Can others buy a
meal? If so, how? If not, we'll bring a camp stove to cook out on. Are
propane camp stoves allowed there? Any other info you can provide or point
me to will be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Karen - from Texas (CT region)
