Fwd: Re: [RC] driving for cross training - Ellen Zawada

Hi Kim,

I have been wondering the same thing.  I would think that driving could really help develop other sets of muscles.  I have actually been looking for a cart so that I can try it out myself.  The question I have is if the muscles a horse uses pulling a cart are some of the same muscles a horse would need for hills and climbing. I live and train in very flat terrain, but would eventually like to try some rides that would be very challenging for us.  Would driving help develop some of the needed muscle groups that would not normally be developed in my area?

Hi guys,

Just wondering how many of you out there use driving as a form of cross training and how often/how far do you drive if you do?

Thanks so much.

Kim
