RE: [RC] Kudzoo Hay Revisited - Katrina MosshammerMom gives the parrots fresh corn on the cob and when she shucks them she will give the husks to the donkey. The donkey is so obese on nothing but pasture and about a 1/2 of cup of "pity oats" twice a day when we feed the horses. She thinks the corn husks are a special treat. I remembered that when I was a kid my dad used to buy my pony bags of "Crushing". It was apparently corn, shucks, stalks & everything else thrown into something like a mulcher. It looked like a very fine hay mulch. My pony ate it, slowly and not real enthusiastically. I hated it because I was comparing it to sweet feed...but as a hay substitute I kinda wonder now how that would rate and if they still bag that up for cows. Anybody know?
