Re: [RC] Gaiting (videos included) - april

I got my paint at 2 1/2. No gaited horses anywhere in his pedegree. When he was young, he would do this "thing" near the end of a ride, when he started getting tired. I guess he liked it. He is 12 now and can keep up with my daughters arabians trot. Several farriers, vets, and video later, he does the twh running walk. He has a big 4 cornered trot that will teach you to post in a hurry. But he does "his thing" in the pasture and under saddle.

I bought him at 6yo, and by chance we got a lot of snow that winter so we had to
walk the whole winter. I spent the time teaching him to walk faster to keep up
with his riding buddy, a much taller horse. Lo and behold, that spring he
began to foxwalk (only I didn't know what it was called, I just knew it was
smooth).
