The benefit to them with a lightweight treeless is that neither the pad nor the saddle goes anywhere!  My horse never needed a crupper, but now he doesn’t even need a breastcollar………..not even for lunging up knee-knocking hills.  I’ve been using mine for 3 years and LOVE them.

I liked mine so much, I bought two more.  I have no "slippage" problems under my Reactor Panel saddle, but maybe under a really light weight treeless it would need to be secured.  I've used mine on very steep hills with no problems at all.  I think they are wonderful and so easy to clean.
