Re: [RC] [RC] OLD DOMINION!! - Sarah Seashols

Gotta second Jen on that one, and add that my horse also seems to be more prone to cuts from rocks when going super slow -- the two times Queso has cut himself on the rocks (at No Frills both times, same/similar trails as the OD trails), we were putzing along through ugly rocks at a slow walk or waiting in line in the rocks to cross a stream.  But he's always been fine if we move through them a little faster or even much faster.

Maybe it's for the same reason that he doesn't trip or fall in holes as much at the trot and canter as he does at the walk.(?)

For whatever reason, the faster you go the more stable the horse.  (Bruce?)  My theory is those rocks due tend to move, that hoof getting on and off of them faster lessens the movement.

There is a good amount of water crossings, and hopefully the hills got as much rain as we did from Barry... lots of puddles here on the coast.

There is a decent amount of food for the horses on trail.  Very heavy wooded, lots of leaves to grab, and sparse grass here and there.  (not like those pine barren of SC, definately NO food there!)
