Re: [RC] high ties vs spring ties - Lysane Cree

I have a two horse bumper pull - I put one Hi-tie on each side. Works great.

Do you know how well they work on smaller trailers?  Mine is an older Logan 2-horse bumper-pull.  I've only ever seen high ties on larger trailers.  I got a portable corral system for that reason, but having a system that you don't have to set up and tear down is pretty attractive.

I camp with my three horses. With the Hities on my living qtrs trailer....I hear nothing all night. I have never had an issue. I did use the spring tie in the past. I didn't like it. Too heavy. You have to take the arm off to travel., etc.

I'm thinking of getting a tie system for my trailer. I didn't realize there were so many kinds out there. What are the pros and cons of the various tie systems offered? Do most of you perfer solid high ties or the spring ties? Since I'm a very light sleeper I would prefer the one that would make the less noise. Thanks for the info. Kathy Crothers
