[RC] Placerville decreased wildlife - Steve Shaw

This time of the year the does have fawns and the turkey hens have chicks. Both are more dispersed and solitary so you don't see them as much or in groups this time of year, like you said.
Mountain Lions do not become residents. They have a route and travel in a wide marked territory. They may stay in an area for a week or more, but move on. They selectively hunt deer in a wide area so as not to have any blank spots in this territory and also not to over spook the prey.
Maybe the territory is getting smaller?
Maybe you are in an overlap area where more than one family gets to.
Nature will find a balance. Enjoy the sightings while you can!
Steve Shaw
