For those who don't want a bright white light in front of horse to interfere with night vision, another product that works just like glowsticks are NITE IZE (www.niteize.com) under "L.E.D. Accessories" line. The "Clip-on Markers" can be attached to the front of a breastplate and have three color choices (green, white or red).
The "Magic Markers" have Velcro loops on back that fit perfectly on a browband,  back of saddle or sides of stirrups. Since they are red, they don't interfere with vision of horses, but can be seen from good distance.
They use small watch batteries.

They look like a wonderful idea, and I'm going to buy one myself.  Riding a dark bay at dusk always makes me nervous.
