[RC] 30 minutes - not workable for many rides. - rides2far

Funny how the LD riders manage the 30 minute window with no trouble at
all...

They don't have the same finish line to deal with so its apples and
oranges. Their finish line is the vet check, thus no walk back to camp
time required.

The first year we had the 30 min. rule we had some endurance riders from
"back in the day" show up to do the 25. They didn't know about the 30
min. rule and for the heck of it lined up and raced the last 1/2 mile or
so. I know at least one of their horses didn't come down, but since the
finish criteria for the 25's is specifically designed to encourage them
to  never race in that just showed it worked. Is it desirable in your
opinion for 50's to stop racing in too?  I almost never race, as a matter
of fact it's probably been 10+ years since I truly raced in, but I don't
much see any other way to settle who finishes first when two riders both
want it.
