Re: [RC] Arabian Saddle Compay - Mary Ann Spencer

What is the problem from leaving dry spots????? Seems having the withers and shoulders doing ok is the highest priority? Where r the dry spots? Sometimes I must wonder if somone is just trying to sell saddles? There are great pads now that make up for a few small saddle fitting problems. The trouble with changing saddles frequently is that as the horse deveops mucles, the fit of the saddle will change. I am planning to get one of the Parelli pads rather than change saddles unless there is really a bad fit. Those pads are pricey but not as high as a new saddle.

I have read a lot of accounts of the horses confirmation changing as the fitness improves. It is so difficult to get a good fit for both horse and rider.

IMHO

Has anyone had any experience with these saddles? I am considering either the Solstice or the Rubicon styles.

I currently have an Andy Foster English saddle that I love, but it
doesn't fit my horse. I had a saddle fitter check it, and she said
that it was not a bad fit, but it leaves dry spots... So, I'm
looking to replace it with another English-style saddle that I can
ride in local shows and in LDs. I have a Specialized that I bought
for doing LDs, but it is a bit long for my boy -- he is about 14.2
and very compact, so the Specialized with its Western-style bars
takes up his whole back from withers to hips. An English style fits
him better as far as panel length is concerned, and would let me use
the same saddle in local shows and in LD rides.
