Re: [RC] insuring the endurance horse/questions - Laney HumphreyI insure my horse but it's been years since I've upped his value. As I remember, it was a combo of purchase price, training and a little bit of experience thrown in. Even so, I wouldn't try to make it more than fair market value especially for an endurance horse because I think insurance companies want to see ribbons and trophies more than tee shirts.Laney heidi larson wrote: I'm considering insuring Ash this season. I have a leased mare insured for the lady I'm leasing her from, but she's just a broodmare and her value is negligible compared to what I think Ash may be worth. How do I determine his value? His cost plus training plus experience? That last one is the tricky one! I have a call in to the ins. company I'm using for the mare - but thought I'd pose this question to you who may know! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
