[RC] [RC] Endurance horse/rider sizes - Jim Ferris

In 2004 my then 17 year old 15hh arabian gelding completed the Tevis
carrying me the entire way. He probably tipped the scales at around
950lbs and me plus my tack weighed in at around 265lbs. Note what I
said, he carried me the entire trip except when walking the last
200yds or so into most of the vet checks. This was due to me having a
bad knee so running or walking was not an option for me. I agree with
many of the earlier postings that saddle fit is extremely important
along with the riders balance.
