[RC] AHA competition card - Mary Howell

I was renewing my AHA membership just now (their server is down, so I had to
call their # in Colorado).

A helpful AHA staffer told me that the competition card (which you need to
enter AHA sanctioned rides or else pay a $10 day fee) costs an additional
$50 over the annual $25 individual membership, but that you can get the card
through a local affiliated group (like a state-based AHA club) for $20.
Since I'll probably only enter 1 or 2 AHA sanctioned rides all year, that
sounded good to me!

She suggested I use the Ocala Fla-based Arabian Distance Riders since they
have a $0 membership fee and don't limit membership to state residents.
Have any of you heard ever of this before?

Mary in VA
