[RC] NGB - Steph Teeter

Hi Eric - to answer your question:

I've always been curious about this, just exactly *who* appointed USEF
as "...the National Governing Body (NGB) of Equestrian Sport in the
United States"? Did anybody bother telling the Quarter Horse
Association ( and other breed groups / equine sports groups) about
this? Or is this a case of -like my momma used to say- "Because I said
so."

The FEI recognizes one organization in each country as the 'national
governing body' of equestrian sports. USEF also oversees equestrian
competitions in eventing, reining, jumping, vaulting, para-equestrian and
dressage.

So the FEI is the one that ultimately decides who/what it's NGB is in for
each country.

Steph
