[RC] - Smith, Dave

Just a reminder:  The Western States Trail Foundation  (the folks who take care of the Tevis Cup Trail) are still accepting  applications for the May 19 (Saturday) 10th Annual Fun Ride.  Check out their website for applications, etc,. at:  www.foothill.net/tevis or email them at wstf@xxxxxxxxxxxx  Participants have a choice of one of two fun rides:  a 12-miler from  the Foresthill mill site to Michigan Bluff via Volcano Canyon; or a 20-miler one way from the mill  to Drivers Flat following the California Street Trail.  The canyons promise to be alive with wildflowers just in time for the ride.  Following the ride will be a barbecue from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a seminar on vetting, safety and preparation.  Neither trail is recommended for green  horses or trail riders and are considered “technical” in places.  A vet will be on hand for any equine emergency.
