I don't usually feel like my foot will get stuck through a stirrup (english/western/whatever), I prefer to keep the stirrup at the balls of my feet, closer to my toes. When I rode in theEZ's, I felt like my whole foot was going numb & I couldn't put my heels down the way I like. Could be just one of my oddball tendancies <g>.

I figure *any* stirrup without a cage or safety release *could* be a deathtrap, and I've seen safety release stirrup leather hangers release at very inconvenient times (picture Boyd Matson going over Cougar Rock on the Nat. Geographic Tevis video. I have cages on all my EZ Rides. It's nice when people's kids come to your house with no heel to throw them up there and know they can't go through the stirrup.
