Re: [RC] [RC] electrolytes and all advice - Ranelle Rubin

The most beautiful trail in the world is an understatement! I had the pleasure of riding that area 2 yrs ago and yes, I will be there too in 2008! We drag rode the middle 30 miles of the ride..a pleasure to be sure..trotting through single track of Redwood stands..it doesn't get much better than that!

And be sure to enjoy the shower in the middle of a Redwood tree!

Just pay attention to the "Dog Town" signs and park there if you need to bring your dogs. Barbara found a very good solution to the dog issue. I love dogs personally, but don't want to worry about bringing them to a ride. I know some people don't have a choice, or just prefer to have them with them. She has a no dogs area and a "Dog Town" area..works great.

I will invite you to Swanton Pacific in 2008 (we're going traveling this year, so the SP has been cancelled for 2007). No horrendous drop-offs, no giant boulders to tear up your horse's legs, no sauna, no 100+ degree heat. Beautiful forests, giving the trail lots of shade, beautiful views of canyons and ocean. Lovely creeks, too. Lots of steep climbs, both up and down...those are what make SP a challenge. But the weather is nice and the trail footing is kind. Finishing SP will definitely prove you are no weenie!

Ya'll ever notice how everybody invites each other to come do their most hellish rides? "Our canyons are ovens" Oh yeah, well our place is a sauna. If anybody out there has a really *pleasant* 100 they want to invite me to, I'm listening. Somehow telling me how awful it is just doesn't get me moving. >g<

Angie (yeah, I know Jody, you're calling me a weinie right now)
