[RC] Not drenching electrolytes - k s swigart

Leonard Liessens said about Steph's post on not drenching endurance
horses with electrolytes:

hehehe... Steph... you seem to become
the most 'european' of the americans...

The idea of not force feeding electrolytes to endurance horses is
neither a novel, nor a European one. You can go back 10+ years in the
Ridecamp archives and see adamant posts from many American "old timers"
insisting that you do NOT need to be shoving salts down your horse's
throat to ride endurance, and that, doing so may actually be
detrimental.

And these people were pooh-poohed as being hopelessly stuck in the past,
not up on the current science...

If you want me to go hunting through the archives, I guess I can.
