What makes the goats less attractive is a 10 foot high fence (we hope.)

While there might be plenty of deer, I am assuming none of them are penned up like the goats.

If the lion feels safe enough to go into the goat pen and kill the goat,
and then come back later to eat it, I consider it highly unlikely that
it will start hunting deer instead.  It has found a steady supply of
food that is always in the same place and can't run away.  Not unlike
shooting fish in a barrel.

If you don't do something to make the goats less attractive, it will be
back the next time it's hungry.
