[RC] Broken Splint bones - Susan Cushing

Hi,
I am mostly a lurker. I have an Icelandic that I did one LD with last year in which he did really well. We were training for our first 50 and he got kicked by another horse and broke a rear splint bone. He seems to have recovered somewhat short of a miracle. He has pretty much regenerated a whole new bone.

I was wondering a few things:

Any suggestions on a good way to bring him back? I have been doing long slow distance. Our footing in MA has been rough since I have been able to ride him. I plan to now just ride like I did last year to bring him along.

When I go to a ride, do I let the vets know about his accident?

Thanks,
Susan Cushing and Lappi
