IMO, the relationship between a horse or dog with humans in much more of a
companion animal than any other types of animals. That's the difference to
me.

When I hear about "public outcry" against the human 
consumption of horse meat, I have to wonder if those decrying 
the practice are vegitarians or vegans.  If someone eats 
beef, or pork, or lamb, why can't someone eat horse?  Just 
because its unfamiliar doesn't mean its wrong.
