[RC] slaughter vs consumption - Julie Pearsall

From: "Karen Everhart" rainbowmeadowsranch@xxxxxxxxx

"..... most are not opposed to others eating horses, but are opposed to 1- uncontrolled breeding, 2-irresponsible ownership AND 3- inhumace transport and housing and the actual process used to "stun" the horse prior to it being bled out."

Point taken.    So, what is a humane way to end the life of an unwanted horse and leave it eligable for human consumption?  Why hasn't the method of slaugter been addressed instead of outlawing the practice altogether?  I ask out of ignorance, not malice.
