[RC] Ohio Horses Need Homes - Karen Everhart

The Darke County Humane Society has 14 horses that they need
to place very soon.   This is NOT a Cruelty case, it is an older couple,

he is terminally ill and they are not able to care for the horses anymore.

Most are okay weight wise,(some a little thin, but not bad) but need

farrier work.. They are quarter horses, some paints.

There are 2 young stallions, 1 older stallion and 11 mares -- all have
been running in the pasture together and we are pretty sure the mares
are bred - how could they not be right?

Part of the problem is that while they are friendly, they do not know

what a halter is or how to lead.   The couple was going to give them

away to a guy who is a dealer and they were afraid he would take

them to slaughter... and they just want them to go to a good home.
