Thank you for this suggestion.  My horses don't snarf up everything 
but 
they sure as heck scatter and waste a lot.


I tried throwing out a bale intact. The horse pawed it, got his foot
through the hay rope, then hooked the hay rope in the back of his shoe.
They always find a way to cause trouble! :-P
