RE: [RC] [RC] kids and horses - Jonni - Libby & Quentin Llop DVM

My youngest son started foxhunting when he was three (and hound exercising
at one and a half: but he always fell asleep). We rode Tots-in tandem - with
the saddle that puts the kid in front with his own stirrups. We had a
Tennessee walker so that we could keep up. I know people talked, but thank
god there wasn't a list where I could see it all. BTW he grew up to be a
very competent horseman, who starts all my young horses for me. I enjoy
riding with him enough that I am ponying his young TB everywhere with me
this winter in the hopes that we can do some rides together when he gets
back from college. Libby

I'd be curious as to why. No suitable horse for him? Lost interest after
doing 100 miles? Or was the whole thing just for the publicity.

I believe it was for an entirely different reason than Jonni ventured to
guess. I believe that at least part of the reason that "the kid" has not
done another ride, is because the family might have been tired of being one
of the main topics on ride camp!!
