[RC] Would this be too aggresive of a schedule? - Jessica Spoone-Raines

A little background first, my horse is 9 years old next month, trained to saddle at 4, rode him in the ring the first year, from age 5-7 we did a lot of very slow trail mileage, from 7 to present we have been training sporadically for endurance. By that I mean we'll get in a couple months of good solid riding (15 mile rides 3-4 times a week approx 6.5 mph) then something will happen (not injuries, just life interruptions) and we might get to ride once every couple of weeks for a month or two. All tack issues are worked out, we get along well and I know my horse and can tell if something is off. Okay enough background, what I would like to do is start with a couple of ld's (starting in April) and then start him into 50's, preferably doing 5-6 of them by the end of the year. I would be riding very conservatively, couldn't care less where we place as long as he finishes healthy and sound. Should I warm him up with more ld's and not worry about 50's until the end of the year? Thanks in advance!
