I think it would be a difficult sell - the cross country portion of eventing
in Greece was significantly shortened in length due to the cost/challenges
of such a big course. I would think endurance would pose exponential
problems along those lines.

The new head of the IOC has stated that there are too many 
sports in the Olympics and they are in the process of cutting 
sports out - not adding new ones. I believe that both 
baseball and softball - both with much bigger appeal than any 
equestrian event have been cut for the 2008 games. I suspect 
getting a new equestrian sport into the Olympics will be near 
on to impossible. As long as they leave womens beach 
volleyball alone that would be good.
