Re: [RC] Is it possible--100 miles - Laney HumphreyHow much do you love this horse? If you love it at all, or have any feelings for it, back off! Most people with any feelings for their horses and for the sport take at least a year of long, slow conditioning before doing their first ride, especially with a horse that has just recently been started under saddle. Then many riders do at least a year of shorter distances before attempting a 100 miler. There are a few wonder horses that seem to need hardly any conditioning at all. Their abilities are usually recognized after the fact, not before. Take your time, enjoy the ride, expect some setbacks and detours, learn to really know your horse and go slow - for your horse's sake.Laney Ridecamp Guest wrote: Please Reply to: cmkdreams cmkdreams@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
