Use a larger container for horse water in corral, not the normal horse bucket. Like those big muck buckets. More water=less water freezing. Usually only the top layer and edges freeze. Then we break the top frozen part in the morning. We have a tea kettle in the camper to heat boiling water. Throw that in and it helps the water warm up and get rid of those frozen pieces in there.
