[RC] Horse Drinker - Reid

I installed one of these units in 1994, in Oklahoma where our freeze line was 24", and a 300 gallon tank would freeze solid. The "how it works" screen describes better than I can...valve is below freeze line. Warm water enters the bowl for drinking - then when paddle is released the water drains out of the bowl. The bowl is empty before the paddle gets cold or any freezing could occur.  Best Wishes        Floyd

Floyd, do you live in an area where it freezes a lot?  I would think the aluminum paddle that the horses must push to get water would get too cold.
