[RC] Crazy carpet snow pads - B. L. Kossowan

Hi Bob. I meant to e-mail you back to see how you'd made out.
Crazy carpet is sold in the toy sections - it's a sheet of Teflon kids can use
like a tobaggan for sliding around on snow. Cheap. Really Cheap. Comes in all
kinds of colours, so you can take your pick.
To use on your horses, have your farrier it cut to shape and then place it
under the shoe like a regular pad. Cut a "V" over the frog and be sure to keep
the area between the Teflon and the sole clear of debris. No need to goop it up
with silicone or anything like that, and the pad can be trimmed with a sharp
knife if needed.
Snow and ice will not stick.
These "pads" work better than anything else here in Western Canada, where we
live with snow six months of the year (or more - just ask Paddi).
If you have trouble finding Crazy Carpet in your part of the country, maybe you
could find someone in a more wintery area, like Montana or Idaho, who could
pick some up for you.

Cheerio
