Yes. The modern power packs are quite good, but are not meant to be hooked up continuously. Best practice:

If you are not going to use the LQ for a week or so shut off the fridge. Tie the door open a crack, disconnect the battery switch, hookup a Battery Minder (TM) battery maintainer. and rest easy.
