Yes, I did have to replace one but that was 25K after the dealership told me to expect it. I regularly pull 20K with the truck. The only thing I would say about the 97 is that it will feel a little underpowered. The difference in power between the 97 and even the 99 is amazing and the difference between the 99 and 06 absolutely blows my socks off. As has been stated on Ridecamp recently...the rear end ratio is critical. Your choices will be 4:10 or 3:73. I have pulled with both, but if you are looking for power, take the 4:10.
