RE: [SPAM] RE: [RC] RC Occupations - heidi

Yeah, but just wait til senior blocks...    ;-)

Gotta admit, I managed to get my first 1000 miles before I earned my DVM degree....  Sometimes my poor horses got to be guinea pigs for stuff like putting in jugular catheters, passing stomach tubes, etc., though...

Still remember going to one ride near Pullman where one of the faculty was vetting and had brought a bunch of senior students to observe and help out--they were so enthralled to find a fellow student riding that they just about wouldn't leave my poor horse alone...  <g>  I noticed him at one check being reluctant to let one of them pick up his left foreleg--and looked back to see that the reason was that another vet student had his right hind leg up in the air....

PS:  I think that Melissa Ribley DVM, current chair of the AERC veterinary committee, is the only other doc who earned her 1000-mile medallion before earning her DVM degree--if you hurry, maybe you can be the third!

I'm a full-time veterinary student.  I get a week off for Thanksgiving and four weeks off for Christmas, and then another week in March for Spring Break and three and a half months for summer.  Ain't so bad!  My schedule is usually pretty flexible during the day, so I can often go riding either in the morning or afternoon most days (not during test weeks!).  Although with the weather so chilly, all that time is now being devoted to my new favorite sport--eating!  Hello Sophmore seventy!

Happy holidays!
