RE: [RC] Humor me.... - David LeBlancI have been rained on, sleeted on, snowed on, and gotten too hot, all in the same day up here. Temperature is a consistent challenge - at high altitudes, and even not so high altitudes where it's dry, it isn't uncommon to start the ride at around freezing, and it's into the 50's by the time you get to the first vet check, and into the 70's or 80's (sometimes higher) by noon. Another bit of advice to someone starting - the clothes you need while tacking up are a lot more than what you'll need after riding for even 10 minutes. -----Original Message----- From: ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Chelsea Marsh Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 9:14 AM To: M Paul latiolais Cc: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [RC] Humor me.... My hats off to you for riding in that weather! I've never even ridden in "real" rain! Only when it's been sprinkling! Where I live in Arizona, our summer rain comes with a lot of lightning, not the best riding conditions! So I stay inside till the sun comes out...which is always soon! I have family in Oregon, and every summer I convince myself I want to move there! Then winter rolls around in Arizona, and I decide that I'll stay! Till next summer that is....! -- Chelsea Marsh chelsea_marsh@xxxxxxxxxxx =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
