Re: [RC] RC: Chelsea's Questions re Riding Gear - MisticalRide

Chelsea,

Embrace your newbiness( is that a word or what?) I did my first LD in October. Believe me it does not matter what we wear or how cool we tack up our ponies, everybodies gonna know who we are. As a Newbie we get to smile and ask the P&R people what to do, and when. We get to ask the Vet if it is okay to fold our Vet card ( okay, so I was overwhelmed and not thinking ). I spent almost 20 min. at the first water stop of  the ride,my horse would not drink. thank goodness a really nice person came along with the most amazing words of wisdom, "Maybe he is not thirsty" ( I probably did not need to tell this person it was my first ride).  We get to have fun, we get to learn the sport, we get to say"sorry, its my first ride", when we do something really goofy. Go to Wickenburg and just ride your horse . Your first ride will probably not be perfect, your horse may do somthing really embarassing,  ( horses are here to keep us humble). I have a few things to live down with my "crew". Someday  they may stop calling me "Prescott Barbie".

Go have fun,
Elaine
