[RC] Keep the information coming! - Mickey Womack

I REALLY appreciate all the information I am getting from everyone regarding me purchasing a young horse.

Please keep sending more!!

Here are some answers to the most asked questions..............

1) I am an experienced rider - currently barrel racing an 8yo gelding - but not an experienced horse person.  I need to learn a lot about daily care, feeding, vetting, and training.  We are just starting to dabble in endurance riding.
2) I don't currently own my own horse because both my husband and I work full-time and don't feel we have the time to adequately care for a horse daily ourselves.
3) My trainer is offering to sell this horse to us but she would still pay for all boarding, care, and vet bills.  She is trying to keep thirteen horses that are going up for sale after the barn manager unexpectedly died last week.  We would technically "own" Ginger but Lindsey would take care of her - all of it would be in writing.
4) Ginger and I will be taking lessons, together, from our trainer.  My trainer will be "training" me to "train" her.
5) I will continue to ride "Tuffy" the 8yo gelding so I don't have to rush training the youngster just so I have a horse to ride.
6) I am scheduling a pre-sale vet exam and coggins test this afternoon.
