Re: [RC] Coming Off and Helmets - Mary Ann Spencer

I can't quote the numbers but one of the most important thing to protect is your head.   Unfortunately, I have broken 2 helmets falling off...like why else would I have broken them.  Both times were with an uncooperative horse. Both were after the age of 50.  Medical specialists can put your arms and legs back together if the parts still match but once the head is damaged, repair is limited.

I was happy to see that Eric commented on having his helmet on...................

The other safety gear I have started wearing - all the time - is safety glasses.  I got some polycarbonate safety glasses that turn dark in the sunshine but are clear at night.  They have saved me quite a few times from low hanging branches and debris kicked up by horses in front of me.  I think they cost me about 125$ at Walmart.
