[RC] The whole Amarillo ride thing - Kristi Schaaf

You know, when I followed Mary Ann's link and read the
original ride story on the www.equestriansingles.com
site, I COULD see how non-endurance readers could get
bent out of shape about it. I don't know if the writer
was just trying to make it sound really crazy, or if
the ride was truly like that, but to someone outside
the AERC circle, it could seem like a bit much was
asked of those horses (the description of the horse
coming up from being dunked in the deep puddle,
'gasping for air' is not a pleasant image, and the
comments about how sore the horses were isn't either).
Even if that isn't the reality, that's how it came
across to those readers....just something to consider
when you are admonishing those ignorant people. ; - )

Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off)
