JT is not mistaken. The OD put that hold in
after Linda Lawrence and myself raced for 9 miles down the Chrisman Hollow Road
after coming out of the Duncan Hollow on the OD 55 almost 20 years
ago. I was in the lead and Linda caught up to me and she and i really
covered some ground, at a very fast pace.. Linda could not stop her horse
at the finish and ran out into the road and made for a dangerous
situation. She beat me (i never won a ride) and i got BC and second
place. Since i didn't have a crew or a trailer at the finish i rode BayMar
home back up the Duncan Hollow and over Burners Gap which was another 10 miles
or so. Thats the story.
Off to VC 1 but i'd really like to
observe that pulse and go at Edinburg Gap in the dark at 9 miles, but no crews
are allowed....ts
