[RC] Riding in Chaps - k s swigart

I have ridden endurance in english, suede schooling chaps. I have thought
about getting some custom made smooth leather ones, but have balked a bit at
the price (and have convinced myself that I am going to lose some weight/inches
as I train for and do more ride & ties so don't want to spend the money for
custom made chaps that aren't going to fit any more...wishful thinking).

Additionally, I have found full seat breeches (I get mine from Equissentials)
are cheaper (but probably don't last as long) and more comfortable because they
are made of 4-way stretch material and work just as well as full chaps for
everything except keeping your breeches from getting torn in the brush (full
chaps are great for this).

Full chaps are not as flexible as full seat breeches, and they can be kinda hot.

p.s. I also ride endurance in tall boots, and have my doubts that full chaps
would work very well with them.
