[RC] Dryland - Peggy B-SmithYikes - my endurance mare came down with Dryland Friday. She seems to feel just fine. Had the vet out and gave me antibiotics to give her. Her swelling is all gone and the disgusting, oozing boil-like sore seems to be on the mend. The vet said she is very contagious as long as the icky sore is draining and that it is spread by flies. I'm just hoping my other 2 don't get it. I'm trying to keep her away from the others but she feels so good she is going nuts. Can anyone who has been through this give me any advice? I need to get back to her conditioning as we are having a 2-day ride up here the first weekend of November. Well - at least I'm glad I hadn't planned on doing the Grand Canyon XP, cuz I sure wouldn't be going now! Peggy Bergman-Smith Bear Valley Springs, CA
