[RC] Weiser River Rail Trail - Dot Wiggins

This ride is only a week away!!

I just got a look at some of the newly reconditioned bridges. They look wonderful, new planking, new side rails. Due to weather and time constraints every last one (of 65) has new planks but several at the north end do not yet have rails so there will be a couple miles on a parallel road for safety of all.
There is also a hill this time, a real hill, actually two, one on the "bridge detour" section, and another that by-passes the old Tamarack Mill site. Hey, there will be ribbons on the trail this time!! Don't get lost!
Total elevation gain on the WRRT is 1242 ft by offiical RR figures, from 2915 ft at Council to 4157 ft at Trails end at Rubicon.
This will be the first time for riders to see the North section of the WRRT, it is gorgeous.
The leaves are just turning, the Weiser River is running clear and lovely, the scenery should be at its best. The weather looks good, temps above frost at night, days 60s/70s.
Three good vets, Robert Washington, Keith Rubble and Don Roloff will take good care of the ponies.
Would like to get a rough count on riders coming, send me a note if you can, thanks.

Dot Wiggins
