I like the thought of "varooommming" around corners, however, it's just not going to work for us right now.  I'm just getting Spot to where he can do a trail ride by himself.  And believe me, there is no varooming right now. It's more of a "put put put".  Cause if we go faster than a slow put put trot, I get "yehaw! I'm a rodeo pony".  Maybe next year.
 
Of course, once Alpine is sound for trail riding again, I might varoom.  That little paso could always more than keep with the big guys, and has left many of them in his dust.  That's actually kind of fun when the people on those much bigger horses are laughing at my short one.  I get to laugh on the way home....
 
As a side note, I got on Alpine for the first time in 5 months last week, five minutes, bareback.  We attempted to walk, but did more of a bouncy/spinny/paso jiggy/kinda thing.  At one point in time, I'm pretty sure he was doing a piaffe. In gait.  Guess that would be the Fino gain.  Hmmm...  Anyway, it was a pleasure, he was completely sound, and eventually I got a walk, where I promptly got off.  His tendon is tight and cold, and you couldn't tell it was ever bowed.  I think another month, and we will start to bring him back into riding shape.  Yay!

Spot (mom's afraid to let me varoom. Of course, I can do interesting things with just a walk)
Alpine (who likes to varoom, and does it very well, when mom doesn't have a death grip on my head cause she's afraid I'll reinjure myself)
