I had a QH mare as a kid, and I traced her bloodlines back through the
Thoroughbreds, and then on to the Darley Arabian, the Byerly Turk and the
Godolphin Arabian.

The "new" QH's that I have seen at the shows seem to have more of that
Thoroughbred influence, and not so much that bull doggie type. But then, all
breeds seems to have changed over the years into something that is much
different than when the registries were formed.
