[RC] Old "Championship Rides" Results - rides2farA while back I pointed out that there didn't seem to be any place that
was preserving the finishing results of our ROC's, North American
Championships, Pan American Championships and World Championships. Well,
you know how it is, if you complain, you'll be assigned the job of fixing
it. So, just to get those of you who are sitting with the results in
your bookshelves going, I looked up what *I* have on hand and typed them
up. This is the result of the 1988 World Endurance Championships from a
yellowed page of a TrailBlazer magazine that is more of a newspaper at
the time. I couldn't find the date that the ride was run, but the TB was
from Nov. 1988 so it was probably Sept. or so. Can you believe we used to
have to wait a month or two to find out what happened, unless we knew
someone who was there to call? Also included the 1991 North American
Championship.
For those of you who can help out. Here are some questions:
When was the first ROC?
What years was it held?
When was the first North American (later Pan Ams) Championship?
When was the first WEC?
If I can make a list of the rides we're searching for I can check them
off as we get them in. Jo Ann Knight has offered to get it in a format
for Mike to post. If several people can type up one ride each it
shouldn't be too much work. I really hate to think these results could
get lost and forgotten.
